Canada student grant for full-time students

This program gives extra help to students from low and middle-income families.

What is available?

Based on your previous year’s annual income and family size, you may be eligible to receive up to $375 $750* per month of study ($3,000 to $6,000 for a standard 8-month academic year), with gradually lower amounts awarded based on higher incomes as indicated here:

*Note: The above amount has been temporarily increased for 2020/21 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Am I eligible?

You may be eligible if you:

  • qualify for a federal student loan; and
  • are enrolled as a full-time student in a multi-year program (minimum of 2 years) at a designated post-secondary institution

How do I apply?

There is no need to apply for this grant. You will be automatically assessed when you apply for a student loan .
