B.C. Access Grant for Deaf Students

This grant helps deaf and hard of hearing students cover the extra costs of attending specialized schools that offer American Sign Language.

Am I eligible?

You may be eligible if you:

  • Are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Have disability status verified by StudentAid BC
  • Demonstrate financial need
  • Are attending an eligible school
  • Are enrolled in full-time course load (60% or more)

Eligible schools:

  • Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C.
  • National Technical Institute for the Deaf in Rochester, New York

How do I apply?

You don't need to submit a separate application. If StudentAid BC has verified your disability status and you are attending one of the eligible schools, we will assess your eligibility for the B.C. Access Grant for Deaf Students.
