B.C. Supplemental Bursary for Students with Disabilities
The B.C. Supplemental Bursary for Students with Disabilities (SBSD) is a non-repayable grant funding designed to help full-time or part-time students with a permanent, or a persistent or prolonged, disability with the cost of their post-secondary education.
The SBSD is available to students attending B.C. public post-secondary schools only.
Note: Students enrolled at schools other than a B.C. public schools during the 2025/26 program year who received SBSD funding for the same program at the same school, may request to continue to receive these grants until their program is complete, or until July 31, 2029, whichever occurs first.
What is available?
$800 bursary per program year is available if you:
- qualify for Canada Student Grant for Students with Disabilities
- are studying at a full-time course load of 40% or greater.
$400 bursary per program year is available if you:
- qualify for Canada Student Grant for Students with Disabilities
- are studying at a part-time course load of 20% to 39%.
Am I eligible?
You may be eligible if you:
- are a part-time or full-time student with a permanent disability, or a persistent or prolonged disability
- are enrolled at a designated public post-secondary school
- are taking post-secondary level course(s)
