Set up your mobile BC Services Card

StudentAid BC is modernizing its student financial assistance system to serve you better and make it easier for students to apply for funding. As part of our modernization process, all students/borrowers, parents and spouses will need to have a BC Services Card to access our online services via the StudentAid BC Dashboard.

Starting in the spring of 2022, all students/borrowers, parents and spouses will be required to set up and use a mobile BC Services Card to log in to the StudentAid BC Dashboard. Using a mobile BC Services Card is a secure, quick, and easy way to apply for StudentAid BC and receive notifications about your application status.

If you are already using your mobile card, continue to log in as usual. If not, you must set up your mobile BC Services Card as soon as possible.

What is a mobile BC Services Card?

The mobile BC Services Card is a representation of your BC Services Card stored on your mobile device. You can use it to access various government services online, including StudentAid BC.

Why is StudentAid BC requiring all students/borrowers, parents and spouses to set up and use a mobile BC Services Card to log in?

Most StudentAid BC users already use a mobile BC Services Card to log in to the dashboard. We are extending this secure and easy access to all students/borrowers, parents and spouses as part of the modernization of our student financial assistance system. The mobile BC Services Card login process meets strict privacy and security standards.

How do I set up a mobile BC Services Card?

First you need to download the BC Services Card app, then follow the instructions to set up your mobile card. It normally takes about five minutes to set up a mobile card.

What if I don’t have a smartphone or mobile device?

We are currently working on a solution to support clients who don’t have a mobile device. If you don’t have a mobile device and can’t use a mobile BC Services Card to log in, please call StudentAid BC at 1-800-561-1818.

I’m already using my mobile BC Services Card to log in. Do I need to do something?

No, you’re all set. Go to the StudentAid BC Dashboard and continue to log in as usual.

Why are there two options to log in to the StudentAid BC Dashboard?

There are currently two login options available while users transition to the mobile BC Services Card login. The StudentAid BC User ID login option will be disabled in the spring of 2022 and all students/borrowers, parents and spouses will need to have their mobile BC Services Card to access the dashboard.

I access the dashboard using a StudentAid BC User ID and password, can I continue to use them?

You can continue to use your StudentAid BC User ID and password to log in to the dashboard during the transition period only. The StudentAid BC User ID login option will be disabled in the spring of 2022, so you must set up your mobile BC Services Card as soon as possible.

What will happen with my StudentAid BC User account when I move to the mobile BC Services Card? Will I continue to have access to the information and documents saved in my dashboard account (e.g., my current and past applications)?

When you switch to the mobile BC Services Card login, you will continue to have access to your information on the StudentAid BC Dashboard.
