Canada student grant for services and equipment for students with permanent disabilities
This program helps part-time or full-time students with permanent disabilities pay for exceptional education related costs for services and equipment.
What is available?
Up to $20,000 per loan year is available to eligible students for services and equipment like:
- Notetakers
- Tutors
- Interpreters
- Technical aids
Am I eligible?
You may be eligible if you:
- qualify for a federal student loan
- are enrolled in a full-time or part-time studies at a designated post-secondary institution
- have a permanent disability as defined by the Canada Student Loan Program
- have exceptional education related costs for services or equipment due to your permanent disability

How do I apply?
Contact the disability advisor at your school who will help determine which services and/or equipment will help you in your post-secondary studies. If you have not yet established your permanent disability, please complete the Appendix 8: Request for Permanent Disability Programs.
